Apply Government Federal Grants Money

Federal grants are sums of money offered by the Federal government (as opposed to the government at the state, city or town levels) that need never be paid back. This money is given to assist organizations or individuals at the national level in engaging in various activities such as education, research, business development, public welfare, or projects of an artistic nature. Personal loans and Grants are to be distinguished, of course, from loans, which must be paid back along with the interest they have accrued during the borrowing period. Grant money is free and clear and need never be repayed, but there are stipulations and eligibility requirements, often stringent ones, that must be met if a party is to receive the grants money. Federal Grants For People Drawing Unemployment in Georgia-Financial Help

Federal Grants For People Drawing Unemployment in Georgia-Financial Help
The Georgia Department of Labor provides funding for several programs that help workers who have become unemployed due to a layoff to reenter the workforce. Training and job placement programs help workers get back on their feet. These services are administered through local One-Stop Career Centers where workers can get career counseling or search for jobs. There are other programs available that assist homeowners who have fallen behind on mortgage payments due to unemployment.
Home Safe Georgia
In February 2010, the U.S. Department of Treasury provided funding for Home Safe Georgia. Homeowners who have experienced a decrease in income due to unemployment or underemployment may be eligible for the Payment Assistance program. Home Safe Georgia will pay your mortgage for up to 18 months. The payments go directly to the lender. To qualify for payment assistance, you must be eligible for unemployment benefits. You also must own and occupy the home facing foreclosure. Also, your current mortgage payment must be greater than 31 percent of your total household income.
Individual Training Account
The Workforce Investment Act's Individual Training Account helps Georgia residents who have been laid off receive free training to reenter the work force. The customer meets with a career adviser and is provided an assessment of career needs and occupations in demand. The customer receives a voucher that can be used at any approved ITA training course. Training can be obtained from approved universities, colleges, vocational schools and private training companies. The customer can apply for an ITA at a local One-Stop Career Center.
Employment Services
The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration provide funding for the Wagner-Peyser Employment Services. Employment services help workers who have been laid off gain new employment. Employment services staff provide assessments, job matching, job referral and resume preparation. These services are provided at no cost to unemployment insurance claimants. Employment services are tailored to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities, migrant and seasonal farm workers, and older workers in search of employment. These services are provided at One-Stop Career Centers.
Operation Welcome Home
The Georgia Department of Labor's Operation Welcome Home helps veterans who have served in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars secure employment. It is estimated that 15 percent of veterans will become unemployed as they leave active duty status. Operation Welcome Home's goal is to transition returning veterans into civilian employment. The career transition center in Hinesville provide veterans help with career planning, resume preparation or financial planning. In addition to career planning services, the Department of Labor gives veterans a priority when assigning job referrals.
